Pickleball has a friendly, social culture — most of its etiquette exists to keep games fast and fair, not to gatekeep anyone.
Call the score before every serve
The server calls the full score (their score, opponent’s score, then server number in doubles) out loud before serving. It keeps everyone on the same page and avoids disputes later in the game.
Make line calls honestly, and quickly
The team on the side closest to the ball makes the call. If you genuinely can’t tell, the ball is good — benefit of the doubt goes to the other side, not your own.
Keep your session on time
Bookings run back-to-back, so wrap up on time and clear the court promptly for the next group — the same live availability you booked with is what the next player is checking.
Retrieve stray balls quickly
If a ball rolls onto a neighboring court, wait for a break in their play before retrieving it — don’t walk across an active point.
None of this is strict — it’s just what keeps a shared court fun for everyone using it. See you at the court.
